Who is Bushra Maneka – Imran Khan’s third wife

Who is Bushra Maneka and where did she first meet Imran Khan?

Pakistan’s former legendary cricketer and fierce politician Imran Khan has tied the knot for the third time with a woman described by local media as his “spiritual advisor” in a low-key ceremony in Lahore. But who is Bushra Maneka?

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan married Bushra Watto (Maneka was her ex-husband’s family name) who was clad head-to-toe with a veil covering her face in the photos shared by PTI on social media.

Imran Khan’s latest marriage with a lady belonging to religious and conservative family is surprising for fans because of his previous two marriage with an English heiress Jemima Goldsmith and Pakistani TV journalist Reham Khan.

The news of the third marriage of Pakistan’s Cricket World Cup 1992 hero who was once known as Pakistan’s most eligible bachelor has captivated both global and local media.

His first marriage with Jemima Goldsmith, a British socialite, in 1995, with whom he has two sons, continued for nine years. It ended on friendly terms and Khan said in his book: The “six months leading to the divorce and the six months after were the hardest times of my life.” Khan’s second marriage with Pakistani journalist Reham Khan ended in 2015 just after 10 months.

However, little is known about his third wife Bushra Maneka or Busha Watto as Maneka is the family name of her former husband.

Who is Bushra Maneka?

As we all wondering who is the mysterious lady in question, Bushra Maneka, this is what we know about her so far:

Bushra Maneka, in her late 40s, is known as a respected faith healer in Pakpattan, Punjab. She was married to Khawar Fareed Maneka, a senior customs official and son of former Federal Minister Ghulam Farid Maneka. Bushra and Khawar reportedly got divorced in 2017 because of personal reasons, ending their 30-year old marriage.

Khawar told media that he had divorced his ex-wife himself and that she had not demanded ‘Khula’ (separation) from him.

When asked in an interview by Geo News TV if Imran was a reason for this divorce, Khawar categorically denied the rumours. “No! Imran is not the reason for the divorce. There were some things related to spirituality between me and my ex-wife that led us to the decision to end the marriage.”

Bushra is reportedly the mother of three sons and two daughters. Her sons, Musa Menaka and Ibrahim Maneka, graduated from Aitchison College in 2013 and pursued higher studies abroad while her eldest daughter Mehru Maneka is the daughter-in-law of the son of Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Atta Maneka.

According to media reports, Imran Khan used to seek help from him when taking any important decision. Once news report claims that when Imran Khan was going to marry Reham Khan, the BBC weather girl, Bushra Maneka advised against it but Imran Khan ignored the advice. His marriage with Reham collapsed within a year.

Some reports claim that Bushra predicted Panama case decision in Imran Khan’s favour and also advised him to stay in hilly areas which is probably why Khan resided in Nathia Gali, Chitral, and other hilly areas in May and June.

Bushra Manika belongs to Pak Pattan Sharif, and is known as a very spiritual person who follows and spreads the teachings of “Khawja Ghulam Fareed”, “Bibi Pak Daman” and many other spiritually influential personalities, whose shrines are in Pak Pattan Sharif.

It is said that she has a huge influence over PTI leader Imran Khan as he declared her as his spiritual adviser.

When did Khan meet Maneka?

PTI Chairman Imran Khan is known to be a spiritual person.

In 2017, when he found himself in a difficult situation after serious allegations from MNA Ms Ayesha Gulalai, Khan was reportedly advised by his Pir (faith healer) to seek spiritual guidance.

According to a Dawn report, he then travelled to Pakpattan to pay respect to the great saint Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar. At that time, he also spent some time with Maneka clan with whom he shares a spiritual bond where he is reported to meet his spiritual mentor, Bushra Bibi.

According to some reports, Bushra Maneka and Khawar Maneka were in contact with Imran Khan since 2015 By-elections in NA-154 Lodhran.

  1. Fine that you don’t believe in Sofi school of thought but Its not that funny man because this is about predictions not truths. If you read the history you will find a man called “Nostradamus” who predicted events of today centuries ago and a large percentage of his predictions are considered to be near the truly happened events; how can you say its a blasphemy. One must do sufficient research in matters like this before publicly saying such a thing. I agree with you that it is socially not acceptable for a woman who is a moth of five grown up children; to divorce her husband but can you quote even a single example from Islam which states that is against the teachings of Islam or faith. We better educate ourselves before malign people’s reputation, integrity and character.
