Tourist centre has been established at Saidpur Village by the Environment Wing of CDA

The Environment Wing of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a tourist guidance centre in Saidpur Village in Islamabad, in order to provide possible facilitation to the tourists.

Capital Development Authority completed the remodelling of Saidpur into a tourist attraction by giving it the look and feel of a quaint village. The key changes that have come about include the re-doing of a temple, the cleaning up of a stream running through the village and giving the mud houses a facelift.

Mayor Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority Sheikh Anser Aziz while inaugurating ceremony said that people of different countries were residing in the federal capital and they liked to see different sites and recreational places of the city.

Sheikh Anser Aziz said further Saidpur is a historic Pakistani village located in a ravine in the Margalla Hills, near Islamabad and the Daman-e-Kohoverlook and attract a large number of tourists.

The purpose behind the establishment of the centre was to provide information about this historical place and to create awareness regarding its historic significance among the visitors.

Mayor added that an ancient temple located in the village has its own attractions while Archives Gallery established by the MCI is being visited by large numbers of tourists on a daily basis and pictures depicting different phases of development of the capital city had been displayed at the gallery.

The well-trained staff has been deputed to guide the tourists and CDA is trying to upgrade this facility and display more pictures of other historical places of the city.

Besides some old village houses, a visit to the old Hindu temple and a beautiful mosque is highly recommended and at night, you may enjoy the most exotic range of local and continental food, while listening to some beautiful old music.

At the back of the village, you’ll find several houses that are very traditional looking and eventually will lead you to an impressive hiking trail.
