Around 150 FATA youngsters, including 60 trainees participated in different games including cricket and tug of war at Sports Gala for FATA Youth, organized by Hashoo Foundation at Ayub Park Sports Complex, Rawalpindi.
The event was chaired by Mr. Abdurrehman from Skill Development Unit – Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Development Authority, Government of Pakistan.
Addressing the youth, Mr. Khair Ul Bashar-Senior Project Officer FATA Development Authority, emphasized the importance of physical activity that plays a pivotal role in a healthy lifestyle. He alos noted that ”Hashoo Foundation has created an opportunity for the youth from FATA to create linkages with the youth in Punjab, this would not only lead to an exchange of cultures and information but also groom them and help shape up their behaviors” he said.
Mr. Abdurrehman, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer FATA DA said” “One of our main focus as a nation is to bring forward our youth and provide them with access to opportunities. We need to take concrete steps at the grassroots level towards this aim.” He appreciated Hashoo Foundation’s commitment and believes that such initiatives will go a long way towards the fulfillment of our aim.
Mr. Fida Karim-Regional Program Manager Hashoo Foundation said, “The Foundation not only imparts skills in youth but also organizes extra-curricular activities for better exposure. We have worked towards inculcating the concept of acceptance between diverse cultures, importance of sportsmanship and physical fitness.”
The sports gala was arranged by the Hospitality Management Team with an objective of grooming the FATA DA Youth. Foundation trained above 30,000 young boys and girls in various departments of hotel industry since inception and structured twelve training qualifications certified by City and Guilds UK, National Training Bureau (NTB) and Technical Educational and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Punjab.
