Human Rights through Cinematography events in across Pakistan

Movie screenings to be held in Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi

To celebrate Human Rights Day 2015, a number of movies focused on topics related to human rights will be screened in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad. Migration, women’s and children rights, health and corruption are among the topics of the movies selected for the screenings.

The movies are part of celebration of Human Rights Day 2015 by United Nations Information Centre Islamabad.

The geographic scope ranges from Europe to South America and South Asia. Movies will be introduced by experts in the field and, a few of them, also by the film-makers.

Human Rights through Cinematography is organized jointly by Alliance Française, European Union, Goethe Institut, International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights Geneva, Quaid-e-Azam University, Swiss Confederation.

Migration, women’s and children’s rights, health, and corruption are among the key themes of the movies selected for the screenings. The geographic scope ranges from Europe to South America and South Asia. Movies like Sabogal, Ho Yaqeen, Something Better to Come, The Shelter, Akiyaya, Journey of Hope, Journey to Portugal, My sweet Pepper Land, Welcome, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be screened across different locations in Pakistan to varied audiences.
