The full dress rehearsal for the Pakistan Day parade the defence forces was held early morning at the Shakarparian ground in the federal capital city.
Different contingents the Pakistan Armed Forces including Foot columns of Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry and Mujahid Force participated in the rehearsal for the March 23 parade, which will see participation of three international forces this year.
Strict security measures are in place in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident.
According to Islamabad traffic police released plane, Expressway will remain shut from Khanna Bridge to zero point, Murree road from Faizabad to Rawal Dam chowk, Kashmir Highway from zero point to Dhokri Chowk.
Furthermore, Mobile phone service also remained suspended from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM in different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
However, metro bus service will continue its operation.
As per ISPR earlier statement, Turkish Janissary Military band (Mehteran), People’s Liberation Army (PLA) China’s Tri-Services and Saudi Special Force’s contingents are set to take part in the Pakistan Day parade 2017.
Among other dignitaries, Chief of South African National Defence Force, General Solly Zacharia Shoke will also witness the parade.
Pakistan Day is a national holiday to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940, when the Muslim League drafted the political resolution calling for establishing an independent federation.
