Uber to finally launch in the capital city of Pakistan
Great news for residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Uber is finally launching its services in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the beginning of May 2017.
The exact date for the launch of services of Uber in Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad and twin city of Rawalpindi has not been announced. But Uber Pakistan confirmed the news with this teaser update on social media:
Any hints on which city (or two) we’re coming to next? 😉 pic.twitter.com/6ZeM55d7Ts

Safee Shah, Uber’s chief in Pakistan also confirmed that their company is set to expand to maximum numbers of tier-1 and tier-2 cities before the end of this year.
Pakistani market is super receptive and the response that Uber received in this market is beyond their calculations and expectations, he said.
The Uber launch will give some competition to Careem, the UAE-based ride-sharing company which largely dominated the market of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The news also means that the residents of twin cities can enjoy all the discounts and promotions by Uber that were only available in Karachi and Lahore for now.
Earlier in April 2017, Uber announced 20% discounted prices for Lahore and Karachi, which also compelled Careem to launch 20% discount in Karachi and 25% fare reduction in Lahore.
