CIIT celebrates 100th Convocation on March 20, 2017 at Convention Center in Islamabad

Over 800 young scholars of the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) were awarded medals, degrees and certificates in recognition of their success in academic fields at the 100th convocation of CIIT.

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) on Monday organized a remarkable event on completion of its 100th convocation at Islamabad Convention Centre.

Rector CIIT and Executive Director COMSATS Dr SM Junaid Zaidi (SI & HI), was the Chief Guest at the Convocation who awarded degrees and medals to successful graduate students.

While congratulating the students and their parents, Dr Zaidi said that CIIT was committed to providing the best learning opportunities and chances of personal development within a caring and supportive environment for students.

Gold medalists of different degree programmes include NazishTalat, Maria Saeed, Muhammad Yasin, Nadeem Asghar, Shehram Jamil, Syed Ali Kazim, Kashif Rabbani, Iram Butt, Faiza Shah, Kanwal Fiaz and Saima Nasir.

In the Convention Centre Islamabad around 834 students were awarded a degree who has secured their BS, MS and PhD degrees in different disciplines.

MS degrees were awarded to 191 students in Management Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Physics, Computer Science, Bio Sciences, Metrology, Humanities and Mathematics.

First time MS in English (Linguistic and Literature) (REL) degrees awarded to 5 student including four male and one female student Moneeba Umer, department of Humanities.

PhD degrees were awarded to eight students including Muhammad Sajid, Sajid Hussain Alvi, Sardar Muhammad Gulfam, Nasir Khan, Ubaid Ahmed Nisar, Reheela Manzoor, Rabia Kamal and Faisal Azam in electrical engineering, mathematics, and computer science.

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), a leading degree awarding institution of higher education in Pakistan is among the ‘Centre of Excellence’ of Commission on Science & Technology for sustainable development in the South.

In 2016, CIIT has been ranked at No.3 in the General Category, and at No. 6 in overall universities within Pakistan according to HEC University Rankings for the year 2015.
